| Stud Installation Check for loose studs after each use. 1.Mark the stud pattern on the entire track. This is made easy by following the directions on the Woody’s template and using the Track Marker to indicate on your track the pattern you have chosen. Note: when using Angle support plates, you need to adjust the whole location. 2. Drill holes using a Woody’s® Track Hole Cutter. There are two drills, the 1/4" drill for the 1/4" and 7mm studs and the 7mm drill for the 5/16" studs. Continue to the style of stud you have chosen: 3. Push the stud through the hole from the inside of the track. Place the domed support plate then the lock nut on the exposed stud. Hand tighten. 4. Using a 5/32" hex wrench to hold the stud, tighten with a socket until the domed support plate’s bottom contacts the shoulder of the stud, torque to 8.5 - 15 ft-lb. 5. To attempt to tighten more at this pint will only strip the nut threads. 3. To simplify the installation, push Woody’ T-nut Puller tool (Att-4290-1/4"/ATT-4280-7mm) through the hole from the outside of the track. 4. Screw a T-nut on the T-nut tool, barrel end toward the track. Pull the T-nut through the hole until it is flush with the track, and then remove the T-nut tool. 5. Place Locktite® 262 (LOC-2620 on the T-nut threads & stud threads. Use the Track Saver tool with a 3/8" ratchet to hold the T-nut. Then slide the domed support plate onto the stud and screw the stun onto the T-nut. 6. Torque the stud to 6/5-8/5 ft. lbs. The Loctite® Treadlocker must be allowed to dry for 24 hours at 70° after the installation of the stud is complete. 3. Place the domed support onto the Snap-Off® stud. Insert the threaded end of the stud through the track from the outside. Hand tighten the T-nut onto the stud, barrel end toward the track. 4. Using Woody’s® Track Saver tool and a 3/8" ratchet, torque to 6/5-8.5 ft. lbs. The T-nut should be flush with the track. 5. Side cutter or pliers can be used to Snap-Off the extra portion of the stud thread. In rare cases, remove nub remaining on threaded end of stud. 6. Apply Loctite® #290 (LOC-2900). The Loctite Threadlocker must be allowed to dry for 25 hours at 70° after the installation of the stud is complete. |
