Tests prove that 96 maximum strength, nylon composite Diamond Backers weigh up to 2 lbs less than steel backers. Diamond's special nylon is so strong that it is guaranteed not to break or bend. The diamond pattern enhances traction making Diamond the first and only backer in the industry to actually improve acceleration, braking and sled control. Available in 7mm or 5/16". Use with 1" (1 5/16" X-Calibar) or longer studs only. Order nyloc nuts separately.

Ultra Lites(Reference #ULTRALITES)
Patented Ultra-Lites replace the backing plate and the nut on push-through studs. They are made of a self taping, space-age plastic which is very hard and very light. The weight savings can be as much as 4 to 6 pounds in the cases where 144 to 240 studs are installed. They weigh about 1/6 that of steel plates and nuts. Two sizes for 7mm and 5/16" studs.
